1011.07, 13.1, and an Injury

Well - it's a good thing I made it to 1000+ miles - because I'm not sure I will be getting very many more.

But YEAH!!! I made it to 1000 miles. Who knew this fat kid had it in her!

I made the miles during the Champoeg half marathon last weekend, where I knew right away that my foot injury was not better, and was in fact probably going to be somewhat serious. However, I was not going to quit, so I did the next 12.1 miles in quite a bit of pain. And still today, I cannot walk sersiously, and have concerns that it may not heal very well before Portland. I will do Portland anyway, but have a feeling it's going to hurt.

Of course we talk about me going to a doctor, but with not understanding my insurance anymore and not having cash sitting around for doctor bills, I am not sure what to do and if they can really help. I likely have a bad case of tendonitis and the only thing that fixes that is rest.

I just tried walking and couldn't do more than a third of a mile. I will go for a bike ride instead, since that does not seem to hurt it too much. I just don't know if it is aggrevating the injury or not.

So just about 1.5 weeks until Portland. I am traveling with my mom and aunt, but will be on my own during the race. Feeling a little insecure about that, but guess I knew that when I signed up. There will be other Eugene walkers there, but they will have their own support groups on the route. At least I will have mom and AP to drive me home.

I think I have my water and food figured out and went to a prep meeting last night to understand the course and race logisitics. It should be a lot of fun.

Champoeg was fun - even if it was wet and rainy most of the time. A very low key event, but a good prep for Portland.

So - miles to September - 92.35
Calorie burned - 10138

That is great that you double your original goal. It is too bad that your foot hurts and I hope that it gets better. I think you are doing an awesome job.
