This weekend - a Marathon - 26.2!

The weekend is finally here. The past two weeks have felt very lazy. Sine the half at Champoeg I have been afraid to do too much, because I wanted my foot to heal. Along with short walks, I am also sporting a new pair of shoes. This time New Balance, since I still can't get the Asics in my size. The new Balance seems to be doing the trick. More room in the arch for my foot to swell up and down, instead of side to side.

Last night I started the mental list of everything I need to do to get ready. Thinking about food to pack, how much water to carry, what clothes I want to wear. Not to mention, just needing to get myself ready for an overnight trip to Portland.

And mom is coming to visit, so I guess I should at least clean the bathroom before she gets here, but since Jim is going to put a new sink and fixtures in there, I guess it can wait until this afternoon. Everyone knows I am not a house keeper, let alone a house cleaner. On this I fail big time.

I'm afraid to look at my to date stats. With only three miles a day - and not even every day, September went in the tank. I did join the Albany YMCA, and have been four times. That's four more times going than the last time I joined a gym. I'm not scared to go this time - or mostly not scared and it is getting easier. I even went in the middle of the day and saw people there that I know. Yes - I am weird that way. It's from spending so many years as a low self-esteemed fatty.

Today, I get to go to volunteer training at Simon's school. Who by the way mostly loves it. It is hard for me to not to be able to be as involved as I was with Jessica's kindergarten, but I am working my way through the system and hope to be able to start going to PTT meetings and have a presence in his classroom. Public versus private is very different this way.

After the meeting I am going to go ahead and go up to Portland and get my race packet, so that tomorrow can be all about hanging out with Mom and AP. And let's face it, I am just dying to have all that good race stuff in my hands and to look at the timing ship and all that good stuff. Plus, I want to be able to check out the tradeshow at my leisure.

Saturday night will be fun - a nice dinner in Portland and an earliy night. The race starts at 7:00 in the morning.

September Miles Moved = 114.63
Calories burned = 12867

Total miles moved to date = 1033.35

Weight Loss = almost 100 pounds...

Next - a report on the marathon and kid back to school pictures.
