That is the name of my new made up 1/2 Marathon. I walked it last night. 13.14 miles. Through Linn, Lane, and Benton counties, one small piece of trivia I discoverd as I was walking last night.
I also discovered that getting chased by scary dogs is not fun. I'm not sure what to do about that, but will have to read up on defensive measures I can take.
It was not easy and by the time I hit the bridge and made the turn to 2nd street I was TIRED.
At mile nine I called TBH and asked him to bring me some water. I obviously have to figure out how to carry some with me. I was so dang thirsty and very happy to see TBH and kiddo #2 come driving up. I admit I kind of wanted to quit too. But I didn't and managed to finish. I hope at a real 1/2 marathon there are people to cheer you on, because that last mile was so hard.
Not only was I tired, but I was sore and kind of messed up from lack of carbs or something. I got shaky and shivery and had to take a really long hot bath to get warmed up again. I also had a hard time sleeping. Two tylenol pm's did not take away all the feet and hip pain, but I do feel much better today.
Kiddo #1 has been at a sleepover and movie day to celebrate her good friends birthday, so that left Kiddo #2 and I some time to head out to Springfield and grab some letterboxes planted along the McKenzie River. A nice two mile jaunt along the river. We found two boxes and had a grand time throwing rocks into the river.
I am now in the process of preparing some letterboxes to hide on the Ridgeline trail. I am really torn between going for that hike tomorrow and going to a letterboxing event being held at the city of books. I want to do both, but doubt I will have time. Choices??
Movement forward has been excellent:
April miles moved to date: 104.96 - surpassed March and only half way through the month.
Calories burned: 21638
Total miles moved this year: 288.67
Percentage of original goal: 57%

13 miles is quite a feat, good for you! Maybe we shouyld get you a Camelbak for your birthday. Check out their website and let me know if that is something you think you would use. There are small ones for running. I got you registered for the walk today. I've been keeping up with C25k, I go to week 4 tomorrow.
Camelbak's are such a good thing for hikes. We have a couple that we use. Pepper spray will work on dogs as well as people. I have heard of Law enforcement officers using it on dogs. Keep up the really awesome work.
