First time for C25K

Today I did the first step on the C25K workout. Brisk warm up, Alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. My jogging wasn't a lot faster than the power walk, but I did boost my calorie burn by a fair amount, so overall it had to be faster.

My total workout (walk) was 50 minutes, which consists of the 15 minute walk each way to the track and back.

On a side note - Kiddo #1 and I have been reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder - Little House books. I grew up watching LHOP on T.V and have thoroughly enjoyed actually reading the books and then listening to them while exercising. We started out of order and have finished from the Long Winter on. We are now reading On the Banks of Plum Creek. The other day Kiddo #1 said how much she admired they way they lived a very simple but HARD life. We had a wonderful conversation about how much daily life has changed and just how much we take for granted everyday. I love those teachable moments.
