Last night I finished the longest of the half marathon training endurance walks. 10 miles in 2.5 to 3.5 hours. I did it in less than 2.5. My feet hurt bad. I know I need new shoes, especially to start rotating them in - but they are so darned expensive. I have actually walked a full 13.1, but for training they max you out at 10 and assume the pace you set for this will be maintained during a full race.
I also really need to figure out how to fuel my body while racing. I come home all gacky sick feeling and it takes me a long time to recover. I know you aren't supposed to go that distance at that pace without putting something other than water in your body.
I got some good tips today and will be packing a few things with me during the half in Coburg. Pretzels and a granola bar of some sort for sure. I will also eat a PBJ before I start. Not my favorite food, but I can see how it meets all kinds of good carb requirements.
Fourth of July was wonderful. I loved the hot weather. Sunday we delivered Jessica to Shutterbug Camp in Florence. She was nervous like crazy, but I'm assuming she's having a good time. Monday night Simon spent the night at Ladan's, so we had another night to ourselves. Most of which was spent looking for the neighbors lost dog.
Tuesday was vacation day for me, so TBH and I played a round of golf. It was really perfect. He went to get Simon and I did my 10 miles. A perfect day.
July miles are adding up quick, and will continue to do so as I get ready for the half.
July miles moved: 42.7
Calories burned: 4395
Overall more than 600 miles - yeah!
