Breakout the Digital SLR

The house is starkly empty. I am home alone for the night as TBH has taken the kiddos to manny and papa's. Kiddo #1 will be staying for a few days and TBH and kiddo #2 will be back tomorrow.

So what better way to spend the evening than a 2 hour hike and walk at Finley again? This time the Pigeon Butte trail. A little over five miles of camera fun.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I missed carrying the digital SLR, so I grabbed a charged battery and headed out the door.

Here's what I found:

This barn is the first thing to grab your attention as you set out on this hike.

There are all sorts of cool grasses and vegetation. This one grabbed my attention because of its color.

Another barn shot headed up Pigeon Butte.
The view from the top of the Butte.

More wildflowers growing out of rocks at the top of the butte.

Another shot of the barn, headed down from the Butte and perhaps my favorite because of the way it is framed by the old trees.
A beetle on the trail.

A tiny little pond. What are those things in the water?

Frogs! Of course! I loved happening upon this fun little place.

At the trail junction. So many choices!

A blue heron at Cabell Marsh.

This little guy at the end of the walk.

This place really is perfection! Next up - the Beaver and Cattail Pond Trail.
