I both hate it and love it when labor day comes and goes. School is back in session and structure returns to our days. Not that much in our lives is not structured - but you know what I mean. You know what lunch is going to be, you know what your kids will be doing from 9:00 to 3:30, and you know what the next day is going to be like too.
But this year it is a little more sad, because it means an end to the spontaneous - hey let's go find a box when the chores are done. To me that is just plain sad. Since starting this adevnture at the beginning of the summer, we have spent time out in the woods, at a park, or exploring some new corner of the state, nearly everyday after work, or on the weekends.
So yesterday, I thought, I won't let this end - we will head out for a nearby box right after school is out - then I looked in the kiddos back pack to find A LOT of HOMEWORK! Are you kidding me? We were still fighting over that stuff at 7:00 last night. Let's just hope it was first day jitters and we can get this under control in a hurry, or we might all end up crazy. And let's face it - I will have to start boxing on my own during my travels through out the day, if I won't be getting my afternoon fix anymore.
So for now - it's off to school, work, and then we'll see.....
