Over the last several days I've managed to hit a few trails around the area.
Last Thursday I got in the Beaver and Cattail Ponds at Finley. A nice 5 mile hike around a big loop. Not a lot of wildlife this time, proabaly due to the time of day.
Saturday was spent letterboxing at Adair Village for a fun event. Got in a lot of miles walking all over that park.
Sunday, the kiddos gave their dad some golfing certificates. After noon he headed out to golf so kiddo #2 and I went back to Shotgun park to find a few more letterboxes down there. We had an amazing hike. The best ever with the boy and it was so much fun. He was engaged and enjoying everything about the hike. He was especially happy to find TWO slugs.
Yesterday - WORK. I'm in Vancouver for a meeting when at 2:00PM I get the dreaded can we show your house in two hours call. Dang - the house is in no shape for a showing. So I delay them until 6:00, call Jim, and he does amazing getting it ready. So of course we have to leave home, so we headed out to Finley again. We spent time looking at Cabell Marsh through the viewing scope and then headed up to the Woodpecker trail. As we pulled into the parking lot a Bobcat went streaking in front of us. We did the one mile loop and headed home. Both the boy and I loved having Jim along.
The last two days have been lacking in miles accumulated. I am still well above my four mile average and have another 1/2 marathon endurance training walk planned for Friday night or Saturday morning. I have my first official 1/2 Marathon in less than a month.
June Totals to date:
Miles moved - 98.19
Calories burned - 16038
Another 100 mile month - yeah!
